About Us

Alice is a singer with an international reputation. She regularly performs at the Brecon Jazz Festival, and has sung at well respected jazz venues around the world. Before her travels Alice studied for an honours degree (BA Hons) in vocals. Now back in the UK she is  busy performing, and as a vocal teacher with Middle 8 (www.middle-8-music.co.uk) in Churchgate, Loughborough. Alice also gives private singing lessons, and can be contacted on 07903 269332. 

Sarah on stageSarah is the lady with an amazing voice. Singing is her life, starting as a little girl in the school choir, and progressing through a music scholarship at Leicester University. Sarah has appeared in a number of shows, including Guys and Dolls, and Jesus Christ Superstar. Before joining Ain’t Misbehavin’ Sarah sang with the Leicester Big Band.  She has also appeared on BBC television, and on local radio.

 

Brian in rehearsalBrian is one of the UK’s leading trombone soloists. He has worked with renowned artists such as Shirley Bassey, John Dankworth, and Al Martino. When not playing Brian teaches brass and piano. 

 

 

Tom rehearsingTom is our band leader. He plays piano and Hammond organ. Tom is also a renowned chocolatier and wedding cake maker. You can read about his other life here

 

 

Roger plays electric and acoustic guitars. During the 60's and 70's he supported bands like UFO, New York Dolls, Atomic Rooster, Medicine Head., Kevin Ayres, and the Bay City Rollers.  Now retired from touring, Roger is well known  as a guitar teacher. Besides playing with Ain't Misbehavin' he also works with a rock band, with a classical music ensemble, and as a solo acoustic guitarist. For guitar lessons Roger can be contacted on 01509 263 542.

 Pete plays bass. A talented musician, he also plays piano, drums, clarinet and saxophone. Pete originally trained as a teacher before becoming a youth worker. Nowadays he combines his youth work with teaching guitar and bass.

 

John has been playing drums since he was ten years old.  At fifteen he was already performing in swing and dance bands.  Since then he has followed the fashions.  He played rock and roll in the 50s, pop in the 60s, disco in the 70s, and almost everything since.  John's first love is still the big band swing sound.
